Head Coach Ron Stateler
Coach Stateler has been coaching the South Vermillion High School team since 1983. He was an assistant coach from 1983 until 1992 when he took over the helm as head coach. He has coached the team to 7 IHSAA Sectional Crowns, 3 Wabash River Conference Championships and numerous tournament championships.
Coach Stateler graduated from Clinton High School in 1973 where he wrestled and played football for 4 years. He was a wrestling team captain his senior year. The wrestling program started in 1967 with just a handful of wrestlers and in 1972 they won their first tournament title at the North Vermillion Invitational, beating North Vermillion, Southmont and Terre Haute North.
Ron married his high school sweetheart Connie Jo Haltom on August 2, 1974 and have 3 children;
